Education

Digipen Institute of Technology Europe - Bilbao

(September 2020 - April 2024)

I completed a Bachelor of Science degree in Real-Time Interactive Simulation in DigiPen Institute of Technology Europe-Bilbao and finished the senior year in its twin campus at DigiPen Institute of Technology, Redmond.

In DigiPen I was able to become competent in C++ programming and using that knowledge to develop my skills in gameplay programming. For the most part of the degree I have focused on engine and tools programming while also designing and implementing some gameplay systems and mechanics, but in the senior year I focused mostly on network programming opening up a new set of skills to learn.

Since the start of the degree I was able to work on multiple game teams developing a whole game each year. This helped me understand how team dynamics worked, but most importantly learn how my programming skills would be used in the development of a game.

Here are some of the games I worked on:

  • Senior - Raid Party: 3D Boss Fight. Game created using Unity. I developed the LAN system.

  • Junior - Re-Fense: 3D Alien Invasion Defense. Game created with 3D custom engine built from scratch using C++. I worked on the level editor, custom engine and level building.

  • Sophomore - Hanyo: 2D Side-Scrolling Samurai Fight. Game created with 2D custom engine built from scratch using C++. Worked in the level editor, creating tools for the artists’ art and the custom engine.

  • Freshman - Screen Breaker: 2D Side-Scrolling Ink Shooter. First game I developed using a custom engine. Worked on some of the main gameplay mechanics.
